Your dress will be made according to your measurements to make you feel comfortable on your special day. Custom-sewn dresses always fit better than standardized ones. That's why it's essential to know your size and take all the correct measurements. We strongly advise getting measured by a professional seamstress to ensure no mistakes are made. If one is unavailbe, please ask a family member or a friend for assistance and follow our How to Measure guide to help take your measurements correctly. Please do not measure yourself as this may result in innacurate measurements. Measure in the undergarments and shoes you plan to wear with your dress. Please measure everything 2-3 times to be sure.
How to Measure Guide
Bust:
This is not your bra size! It's a body measurement that measures the circumference of a woman's torso at the level of the breasts. Wear the bra you're planning to wear with your dress when taking measurements. Arms should be relaxed down at your sides. Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your Bust and center it on your back so it wraps around evenly.
Bust height (Mid-Shoulder to Bust Point):
This is the measurement from your mid-shoulder, where your bra strap naturally sits down to your bust point (nipple). Wear your bra when taking this measurement. With shoulders and arms relaxed, measure from mid-shoulder point down to the nipple.
Waist:
This is a measurement of your natural waistline or the smallest part of your waist. Run tape around the natural waistline, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Bend to one side to find a natural indentation in the torso. This is your natural waistline.
Hips:
This is a measurement around the fullest part of your buttocks. Wrap tape around the fullest part of your hips, which is usually 7-9" below your natural waistline. Keep tape parallel with the floor all the way around.
Underarm to Hem:
Place your tape under your armpit, where the bra line is (approximately 1.5 inches below your armpits), keep your arm relaxed, follow the side of your body shape, and go down to the hem. We recommend taking this measurement with the shoes, you're going to wear with this dress.
Front Shoulder to Waist:
This is the distance from the neck base to the waistline. Place the tape at the neck base to the most outstanding breast part, and continue until the waistline.
Skirt:
Length This is measured vertically across the side seam, from the waist to the floor. This will be your dress length from the waistline. We recommend taking this measurement with the shoes, you're going to wear with this dress.
The designer may request these additional measurements:
Chest Width:
This is measured above the bust under the armpits.
Back Width:
This is measured horizontally across the shoulder blades, just between the back armpit angles.
Back Shoulder Width:
This measurement is taken by placing the measuring tape on the outer edge of the left shoulder, then extending it across to the prominent bone located at the center of the back of the neck, and then continuing to the outer edge of the right shoulder.
Arm Girth:
The measurement is taken around the mid-upper arm. This measurement is also known as arm circumference, upper arm circumference, biceps circumference, or relaxed arm girth.
Armscye:
This is the measurement of your armhole. To take your armscye measurement, you must wrap the measuring tape over the top of your shoulder and under your armpit.
Sleeve Length:
This is the measurement from your shoulder seam to where you would like your sleeve to end. Measure from your shoulder seam to desired sleeve length with your arm slightly bent.
Wrist:
This is a measurement around the fullest part of your wrist.
Back Waist Length:
This measures from the top of the shoulder near the neck to the waist at the back.
The factory is not responsible for improperly taken measurements and cannot guarantee 100% fit, as this is possible only with 2-3 fittings.
